MJ. Wright is a family owned and run pub on South Great George’s Street, Dublin in the iconic Market Arcade - which opened in 1881 - it spans across 4 floors of this historic building.  

Walk through the traditional Irish pub on the ground floor, past the sung and make your way upstairs to the Eating Rooms, a relaxed and cosy dining experience serving Modern Irish & European dishes. Carry on through and up to the 2nd floor where you will find The Brown Butterfly Room, an intimate private function space with it's own bar.

Journey back down through the Eating Rooms, to he ground floor pub and finish off with a drink in the Cellar bar or enjoy live music before heading home.  

A place for friends and family to gather and for stories to be shared.

Serving creamy pints of stout, whiskey, spirits, wines & beers. Pub classics food menu offering traditional bar eats.

The Cellar Bar is home to cosy nooks and late night conversations. The ‘Public House Bar menu’ is also available in the Cellar Bar.

Opening January 30th 2026

The Eating Rooms at M.J. Wright Pub offer a relaxed yet intimate dining experience. A modern European menu by talented young chef Adrian Dragoman features well-crafted, balanced dishes including scallops, slow-braised short rib, walnut shiitake bolognese, and grilled Irish beef.

Warm and welcoming, the Eating Rooms are situated on the first floor above the pub and include the dining rooms and a private snug.

Open Thursday–Saturday evenings, 5.00–9.30pm.

The Brown Butterfly function room is situated on the 3rd floor and available for private hire. Ideal for functions and events with its own bar and flexible layout.
